Teaching & Learning 2015

Before Teaching & Learning 2015 kicks into high gear, let’s talk about federal grants on Thursday, March 12. Schedule a free 30-minute consultation with Dave Farley, founder and CEO of The Grant Doctors. The topics are up to you. Ideas include: applying for federal grants, managing federal grants, brainstorming potential grant-funded programs, communicating your grant project’s accomplishments to key stakeholders, etc. We’ll gladly accommodate two people per consultation so feel free to bring a colleague.

Our office is conveniently located near the Archives Metro station-two stops from the 7th St. Convention Center station and one stop from the Gallery Place/Chinatown station. We are also one block from the National Mall, the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art, the National Museum of the American Indian and just a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

Download and return our questionnaire to schedule a time. (.pdf form)

If you can’t make it to our office on the 12th, Dave is attending T&L2015. Please contact us to arrange a chat during the conference.

UPDATE: 3.9.2015. All consultation times are booked. Please contact us to meet Dave at T&L 2015.

Grant Management Uniform Guidance: D +4 Weeks

The new federal grant management Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) went into effect on December 26, 2014. Are your organization’s policies, procedures and systems aligned with the new regulations?

This change impacts all non-federal organizations.

The Grant Doctors offers two options to help you prepare for the transition:

  1. Have us perform a Grant Documentation and Systems Review to examine your organization’s systems and to make recommendations for improvement if necessary.
  2. DIY: Use our Federal Grant Management Assessment tool to perform your own internal analysis. Our assessment covers 110 standards in the Uniform Guidance (i.e., administrative requirements, cost principles and audit requirements) and internal controls guidelines; and provides ample space to cite your current practices and to make notes regarding findings, action items and next steps. And, because the tool is a .pdf form, you can save your responses and re-use the assessment anytime. Click here to download the assessment tool.

We’re your partner. Let us know how we can help. Always feel free to contact us.

Annual systems review

The Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) that takes effect December 26, 2014 impacts all non-federal organizations.

As the federal grant management regulations change, so should your policies and procedures. Revisions will be necessary for all organizations-especially nonprofits. The regulation changes are significant enough that your current policies and procedures will not suffice.
