Why don't you charge on a percentage basis?

Two major reasons: First, The Grant Doctors considers the practice of percentage-based compensation highly unethical. The individuals and/or families who endow private foundations do not want their money to wind up in the pocket of a for-profit proposal writer; they want all of their grants to be given to charitable organizations for the betterment of communities. Second, it is forbidden when applying for public funds.

Can you guarantee a proposal will be funded?

No. The Grant Doctors (or any grant seeker) has no direct control over whether proposals are funded.

The Foundation Center reports that many grant seekers are declined funding because:

There are never enough funds to go around or because the applications clearly fall outside the foundations' field of interest;
Applications are poorly prepared and do not reflect a careful analysis of the applicant organization's needs, its credibility, or its capacity to carry out the proposed project;
The qualifications of staff are not well established;
The budget or the means of evaluating the project may not be presented convincingly;
The organization may not have asked itself whether it is especially suited to make a contribution to the solution of the problem, whether it can provide the service proposed, or whether others are already effectively engaged in the same activity.

We will, however, develop the strongest possible proposal for you, eliminating the majority of the above-mentioned issues. Our guarantee to you is that we will work tirelessly to develop the best possible proposal for your organization's proposed venture.

Do you charge a per diem on projects?

No. However, if The Grant Doctors is required to travel outside Sacramento County, California during the course of preparing a proposal, we do require clients to pay for our airline, hotel and rental car expenses.

How much do you charge for your services?
