ANY SEASON IS THE SEASON OF GIVING!

Grants On-line Digest (GOLD) is a free service of The Grant Doctors. However, people continue to ask me, "Dave, how much does it cost to subscribe?" I can only conclude either (a) people aren't used to receiving something for nothing; or (b) people really want to spend money. If you fall into the latter category, continue reading. (Even if you don't, keep reading anyway.)

Grants On-line Digest will always be free. The Grant Doctors will not take your money for our publication. However, if you consider Grants On-line Digest a useful tool and you have a burning desire to spend money, I ask that you make a donation, of any amount, to one (or both) of the following organizations. They are both fine nonprofit organizations and I personally endorse their services, their staff and their volunteers; I support them annually myself. (Remember: this is strictly voluntary. You do not have to donate to receive GOLD.)

If you're a people person, and want to give to an organization that encourages volunteerism and sponsors programs that teach young people how to become responsible citizens, donate to the Volunteer Center of Sacramento.

If you like the warm, fuzzy feeling animals give you, donate to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. They care for, and rehabilitate, scores of ocean animals ranging from sea otters to tufted puffins, seals to star fish, sea lions to a giant pacific octopus, and many others. The Oregon Coast Aquarium's most famous resident was Keiko the killer whale from "Free Willy" who underwent rehabilitation there until recently being moved to Iceland to continue his rehabilitation.

Note: Please identify your gift as an unrestricted donation.

All donations to the Volunteer Center of Sacramento and the Oregon Coast Aquarium are tax deductible.

Please let each organization know you decided to donate as a result of The Grant Doctors' Grants On-line Digest or simply because of my own personal magnetism. Both the Volunteer Center and the Aquarium asked for this so they can track how effective this donation request works. (That information is for their databases only; I will never be made aware of who contributes.)

Again, you are under no obligation to make a donation. No pressure. This isn't like accepting a holiday fruit cake from your in-laws. I only ask that you give the idea some consideration if you find Grants On-line Digest a valuable resource.

Thank you in advance,

DAVE FARLEY, Owner, The Grant Doctors
