After you find a grant opportunity online, the next step is downloading the complete application, also known as the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The NOFO gives you all the information you need to make an informed decision about whether to apply or not. It has a complete description of the grant program; eligibility and award information; proposal formatting; the deadline and how to submit; if any match is required; the awarding agency contacts; and other information as necessary. Be sure to read the entire notice before committing yourself to writing a proposal. There might be some small details that make the opportunity less attractive than you originally thought.
