Before your organization can apply for federal grants, you first need to register with the System for Award Management (also known as SAM).

Pro tip: don’t register with your primary Email address. Create a new Email account exclusively for SAM notifications. Your SAM contact information is a public record and advertisers take advantage of it. The only official notices you’ll receive from SAM are related to managing your account (e.g., if your registration is incomplete or when it’s time to renew your registration or a heads-up when SAM.gov is down for maintenance).

Unless you want your Email filled with SPAM, do yourself a favor and use a separate account for your SAM registration.
